Endometriosis is a chronic disease affecting 176 million women worldwide and 1 in 10 girls and women in the US. It is present when tissue similar to that of the lining of the uterus is found on other parts of the body, often causing chronic pain and cimplications such as cysts and infertility. There is no confirmed casuse or cure, and many women go undiagnosed for years, being told it's "all in your head" or just a "bad period."

Whether or not they have "endo" many people experience the suffering and isolation that a medical condition can bring. We hope this performance will not only result in greater awareness of a specific disease but offer emotional support for those with any physical illness and related mental anguish. ENDOME demonstrates that physical symptoms can be an invitation to psychological healing and even social and spirtual community.
